Amit Vardhamane

Have spent my career mostly with automotive software and related technologies. Be it instrumenting the vehicles for data acquisition to delivering good quality software for critical production programs. My experience has evolved from doing field projects to developing Engineering and service tools for automotive use cases to now include edge, cloud and mobile eco-system. Having worked at smaller company initially I developed an appreciation for end to end ownership on topics. Further after joining KPIT in 2004, I got exposed to complex matrix organizations. I have program managed large teams and led them successfully out of crisis. I have played various roles across lifecycle of the SW development. I have always imagined my role as a facilitator and enabler under whose leadership my teams develop appreciation for the larger objectives , understand their responsibility in individual and team roles and join forces with me on important recovery or growth missions. I have full lifecycle production program experience in automotive software space for powertrain, tools, infotainment and now furthering that in to Cloud space for IoT and related capabilities like OTA, Telemetry, Asset Management, AI/ML, mobile app development etc. . I have been fortunate to be shaped by great leaders each of whom had a different style of leadership, one strong on strategy while other being strong on metrics and processes etc.. I believe in keeping things simple and have a career track record of successful recoveries on complex production programs. Its important to have your own perspective of things and avoid any bias is what I learnt after I failed badly in the first cross functional/cross practice program I managed. I still carefully carry the learnings from that failure in to every new program I get in and ensure that I always appear as an unbiased and independent thinker. I like to innovate simple methods( people, technology as well as processes),metrics and reports to give a clear picture of the program status and progress being made. I have a grounded and open approach to people and believe that everyone can be successful and that no single person has all the answers. Having earned the distinction of being one of the highly appreciated leaders in my organization, I always stay open to what's next and try to absolete myself every few years to get ready for a new challenge.
