I've always been a curious person, and this led me to traverse multiple career paths throughout my life, pivoting and starting anew to learn new skills and experiences. The common thread that ties all these experiences together is the desire to improve the lives of people through advancements in science and medicine. This internal motivation has led me on many adventures such as field work in Kenya, South Africa and Rwanda to experience real world health settings to working in the lab on bacterial genetics and TB vaccines. Searching for tools to solve these complex health challenges eventually led me to design thinking and ultimately to data science and AI. In my current iteration, I lead a talented team of data scientists and engineers that are tackling the challenging problems in drug discovery and development using AI and data science. I am passionate about diversity of thought, and strive to ensure that cross-pollination of ideas occur within the team as well as across the organization. Outside of work, I am a singer-songwriter working on an album called 'Lightwaves' together with my husband, in our band called Venusia. Check out our songs, 'The Dreamer or The Dreamer', 'Think Peace', 'Waking Dream' and 'Solstice Love' on Spotify or all other streaming platforms!
