At the National Security Agency over three administrations, Anne held senior leadership roles including: • Director of Cybersecurity: Founded and led NSA’s first Cybersecurity Directorate, modernizing operations and forging partnerships across the private sector. • Chief Risk Officer (first in NSA’s history): Appointed post-Snowden to rebuild trust, strengthen oversight, and lead crisis management efforts in the face of unprecedented organizational and reputational challenges. • Intelligence leadership: Led NSA’s intelligence organization involving thousands of personnel and multi-billion-dollar budgets, guiding complex global operations. Today, Anne is a: • General Partner and Head of Global Affairs at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z): Helping entrepreneurs scale innovation to meet defense and national security needs. • Distinguished Fellow at Stanford University: Teaching and mentoring the next generation of leaders at the intersection of technology, strategy, and policy. • Board Member, Center for a New American Security (CNAS) and Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
