Antonio San Segundo

Antonio San Segundo holds a PhD degree in Engineering Organization & Business Economics from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He also earned a MBA and he has graduated in Industrial Engineering. In 2007 he finished an Executive Management Program (PDD) at the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. Finally in 2016 he got a Senior Management Program (SMP) also at the IE in Madrid. Several leadership trainings at IMD. Since 1998 he worked in the Energy (Electricity, Renewables & Gas) industry in Europe in different Corporate and Investment Positions. Until March 2008 he was Head of Acquisitions and Alliances at Spanish multinational Union Fenosa. In March 2008 he moved to the Banking industry as Acquisition Finance Director at Caja Madrid with responsibilities in origination and deal execution of acquisition finance and structured finance deals both in North America and Europe. During 2011-2013 he was the Head of PPP/PFIs at Bankia leading the practice of infrastructure based public services project finance on an global basis. In March 2013 he was promoted as responsible of different areas of the Legacy Unit of the Bank managing the Industrial portfolio, PE Funds and Real Estate Business Group. In May 2016 was appointed as General Manager of bancassurance responsible for the strategy of all the insurance products and business lines of Bankia (life, non-life and saving) leading also the different alliances with insurance companies. Since 2019 he was MD Head of Strategic Partnerships and Affiliates Portfolio, role that includes M&A and corporate and business development of the relation and business lines with strategic partners in the fields of bancassurance, consumer finance and new business and fintech alliances, together with the management of all investees portfolio and private equity funds of the Bank. After Caixabank-Bankia's merger he has been appointed Head of M&A Origination at Caixabank belonging to the Corporate Finance and ECM business unit at the CIB & International Banking area. In the latest years he has been Member of the Board of Directors of several listed and non-listed industrial and management funds companies of Bankia's portfolio.
