Currently serving as the Whole time Director & CEO of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ)—India’s largest integrated transport utility—Ashwani Gupta is driving transformative growth across Ports, Logistics, and emerging marine businesses. His leadership focuses on developing future-ready talent, embedding cutting-edge technology into operations, and scaling APSEZ into a globally competitive logistics ecosystem. Through these efforts, APSEZ is not only powering India’s trade and infrastructure ambitions but also contributing meaningfully to nation-building and positioning India as a global logistics leader. Ashwani is also the Chairman of the National Committee on Shipping & Ports for 2025–26 at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), where he plays a pivotal role in shaping national policy and industry direction. Uniquely, Ashwani is the only Indian to have held the position of Global Chief Operating Officer at a major automobile manufacturer—first at Mitsubishi Motors and later at Nissan Motor Corporation—where he led global programs in electrification, autonomous driving, and digital transformation. A graduate of Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, INSEAD and Harvard, Ashwani has held leadership roles at Honda, Renault, and the Renault Nissan. Alliance, overseeing large-scale operations across India, Japan, Tokyo, Paris, and Amsterdam and emerging markets. He was the representative executive officer in Japan for Nissan. At APSEZ, Ashwani Gupta leverages his global leadership experience to forge strategic international partnerships, and positioning APSEZ as a world-class logistics and infrastructure powerhouse. Under his vision, APSEZ is not just enabling trade; it is reshaping India’s logistics landscape, powering nation-building, and establishing India as a formidable force in global supply chains.
