I have been working in controlling and finance for many years – and I am a CFO with a passion for people, performance and change. During my final year at innogy, I had the privilege of being CHRO additionally. This meant focussing on innogy’s greatest asset – its employees – by providing orientation and guidance during the integration process. And providing a role model for leadership in challenging times. After RWE and innogy, I have moved to Fortum as CFO in 2021. Though the original ambition to contribute to a successful integration of Fortum’s and Uniper’s businesses has not materialised, we embarked upon an exciting change journey at Fortum. This transformation project has now reached a stage where the end is now in sight and we agreed that I will leave Fortum at the end of 2024 after having handed over the project into the line organisation so that Fortum’s transformation may continue there. Much to my own surprise, now a completely unexpected door opened. As of October 1st 2025 I will join BWI, the captive IT provider of the German Armed Forces, as CEO of BWI. The idea for BWI is to bring my extensive transformation experience as a senior manager to bear here. An for me, contributing to the defence of our free and liberal societies is a compelling purpose in these turbulent times. I am very much looking forward to this challenge and journey!Furthermore, I enjoy regular ventures into academia as a Senior Fellow at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management
