Beth Mazzeo

I serve as Bloomberg's Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for the firm's Technology Operations, Workplace Operations and People Operations functions. The combined organization is dedicated to adding value through a continuous drive for operational excellence by leveraging Bloomberg's people, places, systems, and connections to enhance business performance. When I began my career at Bloomberg in 1986, I did not anticipate how many opportunities lay before me. At Bloomberg we build products and services that help our clients and customers make smarter, faster, and more informed decisions. In order to do that, we have to build the best products and provide top-notch customer service. From my first roles developing Bloomberg’s trading system and contributed pricing product, I was charged with constantly developing new solutions, and then evolving them to meet client needs and changing market conditions across the globe. In 2001 I began managing our Global Data group and my responsibilities expanded in 2008 to include all Data Products. My time with Data Products followed a similar trajectory, and I worked to re-imagine our product offerings, procedures and processes to ensure our product created real value and remained an efficient and integral part of our clients' workflow. During this time, I re-envisioned the methods and technology Bloomberg uses to acquire, normalize, process, and analyze data. I also oversaw the creation of new businesses, including the Bloomberg Valuation Service, Bloomberg Government, and Bloomberg Law. In addition, I managed the acquisition and integration of Bloomberg New Energy Finance and Bloomberg Bureau of National Affairs.
