Carmen Vanessa Villabona

She had obtained her Medical Doctor degree in the “University of Salamanca”, Spain. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency Program at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County and Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She joined Cleveland Clinic Florida Endocrinology Department in 2008 and since, she has been involved in Medical Education Quality improvement projects and Research at different levels, and she actively organized and participated in multiple educational activities, she is a former member of the CME Florida committee and former chair. She is former Director of the Inpatient Diabetes Program and Former Program director of the Endocrinology Research Fellowship. She has been affiliated to different academic institutions: Florida Atlantic University and Florida International University serving as affiliated professor. In 2016 until 2019 she was appointed by Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine Within her Endocrinology specialty she has a main interest and multiple publications in thyroid and Inpatient Diabetes. she founded Endocrinology Consultants of South Florida and after 3 years in private practice In May 2022 Dr Villabona joined the Endocrinology Diabetes and Metabolism Department at the University Of Miami , she holds a volunteer appointment at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
