Carol Surface

Carol is the Chief People Officer at HP. She works across the company to drive growth, innovation and organizational effectiveness, by enabling the power of HP’s people. She previously served as Chief People Officer at Apple. Prior to that, Carol spent a decade as Chief Human Resources Officer at Medtronic, a global healthcare technology leader. Carol also served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Best Buy, and she held HR leadership roles for PepsiCo in New York, Hong Kong and Dubai. Carol earned her Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Central Michigan University. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the CHRO Association and as a member of the Advisory Board of the University of South Carolina Center for Executive Succession. In 2020, Carol was elected as a Fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources, the highest honor granted in the human resources profession.
