David Flitman

I’m a business leader with more than 35 years of experience in industrial and specialty chemicals, food service distribution, energy and power distribution, building materials, and construction solutions. I am currently CEO of US Foods and also serve on its board of directors. I previously served on the board of directors of Veritiv Corporation for 6 1/2 years, a leading provider of packaging, print and facility solutions As a leader, I value integrity, transparency, and humility, and I genuinely care about others. I’m a pragmatist and a realist who is focused on better understanding the market in order to drive innovation and provide solutions to our customers. I love solving problems and motivating and inspiring those I work with to achieve more. I graduated from Purdue University in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and spent the first 20 years of my career at DuPont. Along the journey to my current role, I also served in executive positions at Builders FirstSource, BMC Stock Holdings Inc., Performance Foodservice, Univar, Ecolab, Nalco, and Allegheny Energy.
