I am excited to lead Amgen’s scientific technology advancements as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, where I am responsible for accelerating the incorporation of technology and artificial intelligence across all facets of Amgen’s organization. I joined Amgen in 2005 and led the Research and Development function starting in 2018, where I oversaw the development of a robust pipeline of innovative therapeutics focused in oncology, inflammation, general medicine and rare diseases. While in this role, I also helped lay the groundwork for a future where AI could play a significant role in making scientific discovery both faster and more efficient. We are now in a hinge moment. Advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning, extraordinary progress in biology and molecular engineering, and the availability of enormous amounts of human data create an unprecedented opportunity to speed the delivery of life-changing medicines to patients. I am proud of the investment Amgen is making in cutting-edge technological capacity and the focus we have on accelerating all aspects of our business operations. My vision is to promote strategic and thoughtful use of AI across Amgen, and ultimately, to help advance our mission to serve patients.
