At Astellas, I lead the global Quality Assurance (QA), providing the global vision, leadership and strategic direction for the division, from the earliest stages of research through to clinical development and commercialization. As the advocate for good quality, QA plays an essential role by providing an independent perspective and confidence on the quality of the data and science to meet the evolving regulatory and compliance requirements. Prior to my current role, I led Astellas’ Clinical and Research Quality Assurance organization and held a number of senior positions, leading quality along the continuum of development at both AbbVie and Eli Lilly and Company. As a champion of excellence in clinical and research quality assurance activity and risk-based approaches, I love that I get to be part of every innovative therapy that gets approved – even if it is in a small way. I derive enormous pride from seeing these therapies cross the “finish line” and get to the patients that need them.
