As chief consumer and small business banking officer and member of the Operating Council for Truist Financial Corporation, I have the privilege of leading more than 20,000 purpose-driven teammates who are responsible for 55% of the company’s revenue and are committed to building better lives and communities by serving our retail, premier, and small business clients through our core deposit and loan products, also including mortgage, auto, credit card, as well as our national consumer lending businesses: LightStream, Dealer Financial Services, Regional Acceptance Corporation, Sheffield Financial, and Service Finance Company. In addition, I am fortunate to lead our consumer capital markets, enterprise marketing, and digital and client experience teams. As the enterprise leader for consumer AI implementation, I have led the deployment 16 scaled use cases that generate tens of millions in revenue and cost efficiencies while strengthening our risk discipline and supporting the underwriting of billions in credit decisions. Having first joined Truist’s Executive Leadership Team in 2016, my more than 30-year career at Truist spans both consumer and wholesale segments in increasingly senior leadership positions, which include leading teams in global services and enterprise operations, Truist Ventures (corporate development investments), enterprise communication, CRA/Community Development, and leading our Truist Foundation. I’ve also had the privilege of spending most of my career guiding teams through acquisitions such as the historic Truist merger of equals in 2019. In addition to being a proud Truist teammate, I’m an alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where I serve as chairman on the Trustee Board, and an alumnus of the University of Maryland where I received my MBA. I’m also a member of Sigma Pi Phi (Boulé) and Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. It’s been an honor to be named one of Savoy’s Top Black Executives every year since 2016, Digital Banker of the Year by American Banker in 2021, and be a member of Global 50/World 50. I’m also grateful to have the opportunity to serve on the board of directors for Signet Jewelers (NYSE: SIG), the world’s largest retailer of diamond jewelry.
