I am driven to ensure the culture that I work in is one of accountability and responsibility. In the pharmaceutical environment, each day one has to bring their A-game to the workplace and this is done by communicating the purpose, the reasons why we do what we do, empathy for the staff, and strict adherence to procedures for the end-user of our work is a patient! In a career that straddled across geographies, spanning close to 4 decades, my passion for the arts helped me balance my personal and professional roles. Early training as a classical dancer (Bharat Natyam) taught me confidence, poise, and patience – qualities that later helped me effortlessly navigate through a complex and diverse career path. Earning a doctorate in my late 40s made me a firm believer in never giving up on your dreams, no matter what stage of life. An ardent advocate for women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. I fondly remember my beginning, I started in a small pharmaceutical firm in Long Island, New York in the 80s, as the only woman/female employee. Today, proud to see so many inspirational women leaders changing the paradigm across industries.
