View LinkedIn ProfileExecutive Overview
As a physician-scientist who co-founded five biotech companies, I’m thrilled to be Amgen’s SVP of Global Research and Chief Scientific Officer. I lead biomedical research teams across the world to address the toughest biologic questions in our quest to advance new medicines for people living with challenging diseases. My research passion is understanding how large sets of genes are regulated to control cell fate, particularly the roles of long noncoding RNAs and chromatin. I have previously led a research laboratory at Stanford University, served as Professor of Dermatology, Genetics, and Pathology at Stanford, as well as an Investigator for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. I look forward to connecting and expanding the conversation around how we can unravel the complexities of regulatory information in the human genome and transform knowledge into cures.
