Fabien SAIVE has over 25 years experience at EDF in Hydro (engineeting , maintenance and opération) For three years from 1997 to 2000 , within the CERN’s international LHC project in Geneva, he was in charge of the underground works supervision of the package 01, as geotechnical engineer. For 11 years since 2000, he was in charge of assessment, design, maintenance, and construction of hydro and/or hydroelectric structures by carrying out projects (design and site construction) on different types of structures (HPP, power intakes, dams, locks, waterways, fish pass). During this period he was also in charge of monitoring EDF dams and worked as a design engineer for HPP in France (installed capacity 1 to 12 MW) and in foreign countries: Madagascar, Gabon (Ngoulmendjim: 100 MW; Chutes de l’Impératrice : 12 MW, Kinguele power station uprating 54 + 10 MW), Sudan (Dal Dam project: 400 MW) … For 3 years (July 2006-July 2009) as Deputy Design Manager , he managed the civil execution design for a large hydro project in India (Kol Dam: 800 MW HPP). For 3 years (November 2008 to August 2011), he was the EDF project manager of a french major navigation waterway project "Canal Seine Nord Europe", working as consultant for VNF (Voies Navigables de France). During the same period for 3 years he installed new activities in dams risk analysis (études de danger) within EDF Hydro engineering, in accordance with new french regulations in dam monitoring at this time. From 2011 to 2016, he managed the Civil Engineering team of EDF CIH, at Brive, including 25 engineers and draftmen. During this period, the also worked as Project Manager for FEDA HPP (Andorra) From 2016 to 2019, he managed as Director all the Marseille hydro engineering branch of EDF CIH (70 engineers) in charge of all kinds of maintenance works in Hydro, for various clients within EDF group ( EDF Hydro Méditerranée, SEI Corse, SEI Guyane, …) From 2019 to 2023, as the « Opération Director » , he was in charge of the all operation (H&S, security, performance, IT, ….) and maintenance (about 85 M€ / year) activities for the EDF small Hydro (237 HPP located in France), within a new EDF branch based in Lyon (480 employees). Since the 1st of January 2024, he is now in charge as the « Opération Director » of the all operation (H&S, security, performance, IT, ….) and maintenance activities for the Hydro PP located in South of France (Durance / Verdon ), and Deputy Director of EDF Hydro Méditerranée, (headoffice based in Aix en Provence - 360 employees).
