Hari Vasudev

As executive vice president and chief technology officer, Walmart U.S., Hari leads development and deployment of tech platforms, features and capabilities that advance the Walmart U.S. business. Hari previously led Walmart’s Global Technology Platform team, overseeing the building and deployment of scalable capabilities and systems the company leveraged across the enterprise. He also spent six years leading Walmart’s India Development Center and elevating it into a leading tech hub. Prior to that, he has been the country head of Walmart Global Tech in India for nearly six years. Hari spearheaded the growth of the Global Tech centers, turning them into premier destinations of tech powerhouse in the country. He nurtured high-performing teams, cutting across different functions and geographies. He oversaw the strategic development of tech to integrate seamless shopping experiences for customers, empower associates to serve people better and help the business grow globally He has been instrumental in laying the foundation of Walmart culture, purpose and vision in India. Hari’s previous experience with Yahoo! and Flipkart is testament to his ability to lead tech conglomerates. During his tenure with Flipkart, Hari shaped the strategy for a supply chain ecosystem at scale and built the tech stack for Ekart. At Yahoo! Hari played a key role in the substantial growth of the center whilst working on a range of end-to-end consumer and platform products. He has three patents for: ‘Method & Apparatus for configuring a camera through external means’, ‘Intelligent camera flash system’ and ‘System method and apparatus for portable digital identity’.
