I joined Ciena over a decade ago because I believed that the company had a huge opportunity ahead of it. Over the past 10 years, we have grown our revenue and our profitability, and we have greatly improved the balance sheet. But we still have enormous opportunity ahead of us. It's a great company to work for because our future is bright. We have the best salesforce, the smartest R&D innovators, a world class support staff, and we are all focused on delivering excellent experiences to our customers, external and internal. When I come to work in the morning, I know that I'm going to engage with some amazing people, experience leading technology, learn something new, and solve business challenges that give our customers competitive advantage. Nothing beats it, except hanging out with my grandchildren!
