John Lydon

My purpose is to help business create sustainable, inclusive value for all their stakeholders: Shareholders, society and the environment. Building on 25 years experience at McKinsey including Managing Partner (2013-2019) in Australia and New Zealand, I support, challenge and coach leaders and organisations across the public, private and social sectors. I participate across sectors to help build systemic solutions to complex challenges in particular climate change. In 2020 I took a year's sabbatical from McKinsey to explore this area including serving as an Industry professor at the University of Technology Sydney, collaborating with a range of business and civil society organisations, and continuously learning. Personally I most enjoy working closely with CEOs, Boards and leaders to help them develop and grow - realising their personal potential and that of the organisations they lead. As managing partner of McKinsey in Australia & NZ, I also led, with our partnership, the innovation and evolution of our consulting work beyond traditional strategy consulting to areas like digital and analytics, capability building, commercial transformation, implementation and restructuring. Through my term leading our practice, we tripled our scale and impact while becoming more diverse, inclusive and externally engaged.
