Joy Gao

Joy Gao is vice president of audit services and insurance of Sempra, overseeing internal audit responsibilities. Gao also provides stewardship and effective oversight of Sempra’s extensive insurance portfolio. Previously, Gao was the vice president of risk management where she oversaw the company’s risk management, insurance, corporate security, cybersecurity, and pension and trust investments. Since joining Sempra Energy in 2002, Gao has also served in roles of financial and strategic planning, general rate case filing, mergers and acquisitions, investment evaluation, and treasury. Gao is a member of the Board of Directors for Everen Limited and has served on its Audit committee since 2019.
