The future is global, and so we need to learn to work together if we want to adapt and thrive in a changing world. Change is a positive thing. In my role as CTO & Global Operations at Rexel has required me and my family to relocate permanently from Sydney to Paris. In this role I am enjoying collaborating with heads of key service providers across our 23 countries, ensuring the right technology and systems are put in place for all of us. In addition to leading change I believe in global corporate citizenship, and see technology as ultimately a tool that makes working life easier and more rewarding for everyone. Driving collaboration is key to everything I do. As a leader I have a nurturing approach, helping to ease the path of change for everyone my work affects. Fiercely supportive of my team, I listen and encourage everyone to be engaged and strive for greater success. I care passionately about the end user, visiting our retail stores to help me see things from the customers and front-line staff point of view. It is only by seeing the bigger picture that I am able to put the right solutions in place. Enabling people should always be the end goal of every new technology. My approach is patient and focused. I like to think things through, trialing every new idea to make sure it works for everyone. This is the best way to be prepared – most things are foreseeable, so it is essential to have the right solutions in place for when they are needed, particularly in a complex field like managing security risk. We are all global citizens now. Technology has broken down boundaries and language barriers, enabling us all to live and work in more collaborative ways.
