Mariann Micsinai-Balan

As a leader, I prioritize strategic, impact-, and data-driven leadership that fosters a culture of trust and collaboration. My professional and academic journey has been deeply rooted in a commitment to addressing complex, interdisciplinary challenges. I hold a Ph.D. in Computational Biology from NYU, complemented by Masters in Economics, International Studies, Linguistics, and Mathematics. This broad and unique foundation allows me to tackle big data issues across diverse domains, from medicine to finance and the social sciences. Driven by a passion for data and its transformative potential, currently I focus on harnessing computational methods to address pressing challenges in the pharmaceutical industry. By analyzing high-dimensional data and deploying advanced machine and deep learning models, I aim to ensure that our therapeutic strategies are not only innovative but deeply informed by the latest data-driven insights. One of my key leadership priorities is building collaborative, dynamic teams of data scientists. I find immense satisfaction in mentoring and guiding teams as we navigate the intersection of data science and real-world impact.
