I am a Board member of public companies, private companies, and an insurance mutual fund complex. I typically Chair, or am a member of the Risk, Technology, and Audit Committees. I have deep financial service experience and a broad network of CEOs and C-Suite executives whom I work with. I have deep risk, technology, and strategy skills as well as specific product knowledge in consumer banking, insurance, capital markets, wealth and asset management, and payments. I have been a financial services consultant and practitioner for over 40 years. I began my career at McKinsey where I served all manner of financial service companies. I led McKinsey's and BCG's PE practices. I have extensive relationships across financial services, and Private Equity and Venture Capital Firms. I left McKinsey after over 20 years to become the Chief Risk Officer for Chase (all consumer products) during the mortgage crisis. I reported to the CEO and the Board. I then joined BCG, where I was a Senior Partner and helped build a PE practice while serving financial institutions. I continue to be an active Advisor to BCG. I am a Director of Flagstar Bank. I am a Director of Mphasis, a public global IT company. I am a Director of Guardian Life Mutual Funds Board. I am a Director of Greensky. I am a Director of Apollo Private Markets IDC, LLC. I sit on several other private equity boards and advise private equity complexes and venture firms. I advise a broad range of fintech firms. I also serve/served on a number of not-for-profits (ie, East Harlem Tutorial Program; The Harlem Children’s Zone). I sit on the Investment Committee of the Simons Foundation, one of the largest Charitable organizations in the U.S. I am a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York. I am a Senior Fellow at Harvard, Georgetown, Wharton and Kellogg. I lecture on Risk Governance. I have written papers on topics ranging from community banking to access to credit to information security. Papers have been cited in The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg News, NBC Nightly News, The American Banker, among others. I have spoken broadly, including at the House Small Business Committee, the Federal Reserve, and various Universities and trade groups. I am a Fellow at City College of New York, serving a mostly first generation, diverse student body. I attended Princeton University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I also attended Harvard Business School where I was a Baker and Ford Scholar (awarded to the number one student.)
