Executive Overview

Martin Jacques is Chief Operating Officer, Buildings, for the entire country. In this role, he is responsible for the development, profitability and sound management of our building operations in every market, including Pomerleau’s subsidiary ITC that specializes in the construction of multi-unit residential high rises. Martin is recognized for his in-depth knowledge of the construction and buildings industry, his excellent business vision, and his rich experience in leading both public and private projects. He’s authentic, a great listener, and brings people together. Regardless of the agreement model, he works collaboratively and harmoniously with his teams, clients and partners. He always reminds us we only succeed together. Martin graduated from École Polytechnique de Montréal in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He has almost 30 years of experience in construction. From the onset, he demonstrated remarkable skills in planning and coordinating work. He distinguished himself in the buildings market, notably with the Casino de Hull, the Cité Multimédia, and the Grande Bibliothèque projects. In 2008, he was appointed Vice-President, Construction. With his teams he modernized the Casino de Montréal, built Place Bell in Laval, and many other large-scale projects. In 2016, Martin was appointed Executive Vice-President, Quebec Buildings. Under his leadership, we've seen major achievements such as phase 2 of the CHUM; the REM stations; the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Hospital; and more recently, GM and Posco's Ultium CAM industrial project, which is propelling our teams into the battery industry and global energy transition. Martin has been a member of the Polytechnique – Pomerleau Industrial Research Chair in Innovation and Construction Project Governance since its inception in 2017. He also sits on numerous philanthropic committees for organizations such as l’Institut de recherche en immunologie et en cancérologie (IRIC) and the Tel-Jeunes Foundation.
