During nearly four decades with the company, I have seen firsthand how the energy industry has evolved. And it’s clear to me that while there are many paths the future could take, a few things are certain: the global demand for energy will continue to grow; more affordable and reliable energy will be needed; current energy forms are becoming cleaner; and new energy solutions are emerging. Chevron will continue to lead into the future by developing more energy with less environmental impact, including lower greenhouse gas emissions. We’ll develop and deploy the best talent to solve the most complex problems, leveraging our strengths to find affordable, reliable, and cleaner energy solutions that can scale to meet the needs of a growing world. In addition to my role with Chevron, I serve on the board of directors of Catalyst, the board of directors and executive committee of the American Petroleum Institute, and the executive committee of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum. I am also a member of The Business Council, the National Petroleum Council, the Business Roundtable and the American Society of Corporate Executives.
