Nilesh Ved, a renowned name in the retail fashion industry, is the Chairman of Apparel Group - the global fashion and lifestyle retail conglomerate based in Dubai that houses over 75+ international brands. A graduate from Boston University and having grown up in a family of successful entrepreneurs and businessmen, starting his own business just seemed right. He along with his wife Sima Ved envisioned Apparel Group and aimed to provide the Middle Eastern customers a global fashion retail experience. Started in 1999, today, Ved leads the ever expanding Apparel Group to position itself as one of the top global retailers. What began as a single store in Dubai is now a global presence across markets of GCC, India, South Africa, Singapore, Jordan, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. The company boasts of several international brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Aldo, New Balance, Charles & Keith, Skechers, Dune London, Tim Hortons, Catch Kidston & Rituals to name a few. Additionally, clear strategies are in place to enter markets such as Iraq, Egypt and the broader African continent to achieve the company’s vision of opening 2000 stores by 2020. Apparel Group caters to thousands of eager shoppers through its 1750+ stores, employing over 14,000 multi-cultural staff in over 4 continents. Ved is known for his pace of work and high leadership skills. His achievements in the last decade and more have been duly recognized by the leaders in the region. He has been awarded the Bizz Business Excellence Award 2017, Entrepreneur of the Year Award- 2017 for Retail Innovation, Retail CEO of the Year Award- 2017 and has been featured in Top 100 Indians in the GCC ‘Power List’ - 2010, 2014 and 2017.
