Medical need is the benchmark for our research and development, and innovations are the backbone of our company’s sustainable growth. At Siemens Healthineers, we aim to make medicine more accessible, efficient, sustainable, and humane. We nurture an open culture of innovation in order to unlock impactful breakthroughs. It’s an ongoing task in which you’re literally keeping your eyes and ears open, being inspired, continuously listening, and discussing – and always remaining on the brink of disruptive thinking, reinventing established approaches, and breaking down organizational, spatial, and technical boundaries. As CTO, it’s my pleasure to lead more than 10,000 colleagues who are conducting research and development along the entire clinical pathway, from prevention and diagnostics to treatment and finally to rehabilitation. We’re nerds, and we’re not. Our diverse team composes of a wide range of professionals including the expertise of biomedical and mechanical engineers, chemists, data analysts, design thinkers, physicians, physicists, and software developers. We’re pioneers who are passionate about our purpose, persistent in the face of obstacles, and agile in collaborating with our colleagues, customers, and partners. We see great potential in the development of artificial intelligence, sensor technology, and robotics to improve medical care. In the future of medicine, digital patient twins will help patients be treated earlier and more precisely. Therefore, we’re following these technology trends with a strategic interest in our global research and development activities.
