I was drawn into the world of cyber security by accident, so I can say happy accidents happen. After over ten years leading software development projects, I turned out to be the more adequate person in my company to assume functions that nobody (neither I) was apparently prepared for. This pushed me out of my "confort zone" and, at the same time, opened up for me a world full of exciting challenges that I have learnt to love. Suddenly, I found myself working in a first-class, highly strategic team in defining the main principles that govern cyber security in one of the biggest and most outstanding energy companies in the world. It is challenging, fascinating, exhausting, sometimes overwhelming... but at the end of the day, it is incredibly rewarding.
