Raj Yavatkar, PhD Visionary technology leader with a proven track record of transforming emerging technologies into market-defining products. Currently leading Juniper Networks' AI transformation, architecting solutions that span from enterprise Generative AI adoption to AI-optimized network infrastructure. Track record of building multiple billion-dollar products and identifying industry-shifting technology trends across cloud computing, networking, and AI/ML at Juniper, Google Cloud, VMware, and Intel. He spearheaded groundbreaking developments in areas like the programmable network processors at Intel and hybrid clouds at VMware (with a product called VMware Cloud Foundation), an example of his proficiency in cloud computing and distributed systems. Notably, during his stint at Google Cloud, Raj led the virtual network infrastructure and products team, further solidifying his expertise in designing and managing complex cloud-based infrastructure. At Juniper Networks, as the Chief Technology Officer, Raj is responsible for charting Juniper's technology strategy and for leading and executing the company’s critical technology innovations and products in Machine Learning-driven self-driving networks, security, Mobile Edge Cloud, network virtualization, and hybrid cloud. He is a champion for leveraging Generative AI and AIOps to: 1. Boost corporate productivity: harnessing the power of Generative AI to streamline internal processes and enhance efficiency of functions such as marketing, HR, Legal, IT, etc. 2. Transform network operations: using AIOps to automate network diagnoses and self-healing capabilities, leading to a more intelligent and resilient infrastructure. 3. Optimize network fabrics for ML workloads: driving the design of optimized network fabrics specifically tailored for GPU clusters to bridge the gap between networking and high-performance computing, a crucial aspect of supporting AI workloads. Raj's accomplishments and ongoing initiatives underscore his ability to make significant contributions across various high-tech domains, including cloud computing, distributed systems, AI-enabled systems, and, of course, his core expertise in networking. Raj is an IEEE Fellow, holds a PhD in CS from Purdue University, has been granted more than 60 patents, has published more than 60 papers, has also co-authored the book, Inside the Internet's Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) published by John Wiley.
