Ricky Hopson

I am a CIMA/CGMA qualified VP Finance with a 20-year track record leading global finance operations in the healthcare manufacturing sector. I have experience in private equity, IPO, and public reporting environments and people tell me I am a strong communicator and highly commercial cross-functional leader. I have been operating at VP level since 2009 overseeing multiple sites with regional finance directors as direct reports and my key strengths include: ◼️Developing strategies that deliver dramatic P&L improvements and drive competitive advantage. ◼️Leading finance change initiatives to improve financial management and reporting capability. ◼️Assembling and leading high performing finance teams driven by a culture of continuous improvement. ◼️Managing complex financial matters such as global results consolidation, full-cycle M&A, post-acquisition integration, facility opening/closure, and joint venture management. ◼️Establishing and strengthening relationships with customers, staff, service providers, in-country governments, unions, auditors, and regulators. ◼️Instigating a culture of debate and challenge that enables executive teams to conceptualise bold growth opportunities and develop robust supporting business plans. My career to date has almost exclusively been with Catalent Inc. – a $4BN global provider of consumer health products which was established by PE firm, Blackstone and has been publicly listed since 2014. I began as a management accountant in the UK, was quickly promoted to site Finance Director and by 2009 was promoted to VP of Finance before being trusted with Catalent’s largest segment in 2015, the $1BN Softgel & Oral Technologies where I provided day-to-day financial and operational support as ‘Business Partner’ to the segment President with 11 direct reports throughout Asia Pac, LATAM, Europe, and US. Since 2019, I have performed 2 roles. The first with global finance responsibility and oversight to all four reporting segments ($4B revenue) and, since 2020, the role of Chief Accounting Officer in charge of SEC reporting, audit committee liaison, corporate FP&A reporting, financial shared services, finance transformation and risk management.
