Rishad Premji

As Executive Chairman of Wipro, an $11.2 billion global information technology, consulting, and business process services company, Rishad provides direction and strategic insight to the business and Wipro’s leadership team. Rishad believes that culture is a firm's strongest asset, and works tirelessly to ensure every Wipro-ite understands and upholds the values of Wipro, articulated as the Spirit of Wipro. Rishad joined Wipro in 2007 and worked in several roles before becoming Executive Chairman in 2019. Until recently, he was the Chief Strategy Officer, responsible for shaping Wipro's strategy and growth. He conceptualised Wipro Ventures – Wipro's strategic investment arm that invests in start-ups that are developing next-generation products and technologies. Rishad is on the Board of Wipro Enterprises, and the Wipro-GE joint venture. He is also on the Board of Azim Premji Foundation - one of the largest not-for-profit initiatives in India - that works with over 350,000 government schools across seven states in India to improve the state of primary education. Separately, he is also on the Board of Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives. Rishad was the Chairman of NASSCOM, the trade body of India’s $170 billion software industry, in 2018-2019. Prior to joining Wipro Limited in 2007, Rishad has worked with Bain & Company in London, and GE Capital in the US. In 2014, he was recognised as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, for his leadership, professional accomplishments, and commitment to society.
