Across my career, I have focused on redesigning how agricultural innovation reaches farmers—through evolving distribution systems, value chains, and digital ecosystems.With over two decades in agriculture, my work has been guided by one central question: how to connect innovation to farmers at scale—commercially, operationally, and sustainably.I currently serve as Vice Chairman, Managing Director & CEO of Bayer CropScience Limited (BAYE.NS) and lead Bayer’s Crop Science business across India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. In this role, I operate at the intersection of business performance, listed-company governance, and agricultural system transformation—engaging with boards, policymakers, and industry platforms while steering sustained growth.My career began in emerging markets including Egypt, Iran and Sudan, where I worked hands-on to transition from tender-driven systems to private market models—building distribution channels, introducing new technologies, and working directly with farmers and local ecosystems. This early experience shaped my long-term perspective: lasting impact in agriculture comes from building systems, not just products.Over the years, I have:Built and restructured businesses across complex, multi-country environmentsRedesigned go-to-market models toward more farmer-centric, scalable approachesLed global strategy initiatives, including shaping Bayer’s Market Leadership StrategyScaled regional platforms across Southeast AsiaDriven transformation in India, including integration of legacy organizations, value-chain-based models, and digital farmer engagementAcross these roles, a consistent thread has been the redesign of access systems—how farmers reach technology, how distribution works, and how value is created across the agricultural ecosystem.Today, this extends into broader priorities such as smallholder farmer enablement, stronger value chains, digital agriculture, and sustainability-linked models.I believe agriculture is entering a new phase—where productivity, sustainability, and farmer livelihoods must be advanced together. Delivering this requires integrated solutions, ecosystem partnerships, and a willingness to rethink established models.As a leader, I focus on clarity, integrity, and strong teams—building diverse organizations, developing talent, and creating a performance-driven yet purpose-led culture.
