I am the Head of International Marketing - Project Business at Isgec Heavy Engineering Ltd, a leading Indian Heavy Engineering Company with a turnover exceeding Rs 7000 Crores (approximately USD 800 million). Isgec is a publicly listed company and ranks among India's top 180 companies, operating extensively in international markets. My role involves spearheading business development, assessing potential in diverse geographies, networking, understanding country & customer-specific needs, and ensuring the acceptability of Indian and Isgec-specific solutions. I focus on overcoming cultural barriers and building strong relationships and trust. My key performance indicators (KPIs) include meeting top line and bottom line objectives in overseas markets with consistent growth, geographical expansion, and diversification of the projects and product portfolio. I handle technical & commercial proposal making, discussions, negotiations leading to contract signing, while also coordinating various efforts within the organization, assessing costs, risks, and their mitigation strategies. My responsibilities encompass defining the global vision and creating action plans for the short, medium, and long term in consultation with stakeholders. Prior to this, I have amassed over 10 years of experience in international marketing with the Birla Group, one of India's leading industrial houses. Throughout my career, I have achieved breakthrough projects for the companies represented and for India in specific industry segments across South & South East Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. My extensive travel to over 85 countries has allowed me to emphasize the importance of building trust and nurturing long-term, robust client relationships, which have been instrumental in the successes achieved.
