As a CFO of ABB in India, I held annual financial accountability of orders & revenue worth 1.5 BUSD. I instituted an effective, cost-efficient finance support platform to the business lines, and ensured adherence to legal norms and local regulatory requirements. Overseeing business finance functions and shared accounting service center, I also functioned as a key member of the Local Board Audit Committee. Supporting strategic M&As, encouraging diversification in upcoming business arenas, spearheading capital structure changes, mitigating risks, and introducing innovations in financial management, constituted most of my KRAs. Some of my significant accomplishments here have been: ► Tasked to setup the Global Business Services (GBS) hub in Bengaluru in 7 months; contributed to scaling up from 700 to 2K+ employees, catering to nearly 50 countries across AMEA, USA, and EU regions on a nearly 22X7 basis. India entity globally recognized as a preferred GBS hub. ► Proved instrumental in seamlessly implementing process & systems for regulatory changes including GST in 2017 ► Engaged with financial agencies and organizations to lead the first-time-ever issuance of non-convertible debentures to ABB Group to fund working capital requirements at competitive interest rates; annually saved a significant amount in interest. ► Led a pilot project of a global program for instituting lean management methodologies in the finance space; released 30% of Controllers’ man-hours. Paved way for establishing the FP&A ‘Controlling Center of Expertise’ at Bengaluru in 2019; setup which subsequently attained capacity of 250+ staff serving various businesses globally. ► Optimized real estate footprint of ABB India’s entities; making ESG as a change driver in real estate footprint ► Ensured business continuity during the unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic; addressed cash crisis, bottom-line impact due to low business volumes, and operational challenges.
