Spearheading establishment of HSBC Capital's Regional Headquarters in Saudi Arabia, positioning the franchise for its next phase of growth across investment banking and capital markets. As a member of the Executive Committee, I hold accountability for shaping strategic direction, driving business performance, and advancing franchise development across the region. Partnering with senior leadership to architect enterprise-wide growth strategies, expanding market presence, deepening cross-border connectivity, and unlocking long-term shareholder value. My mandate centers on leading transformational initiatives and high-impact strategic investments that accelerate growth, elevate operating effectiveness, and reinforce HSBC's standing as a premier international financial institution.

Leading a team of 18 staff to run operations of IB KSA, including: Strategy & Execution - Working closely with Banking / Coverage on client organization (Mastergroup set-up), client planning, credit limits, client-level wallet assessment and RfP responses - Medium-term planning of resource allocation and talent management by product (M&A, ECM, DCM, LAF, Infrastructure Finance, Issuer Services) and by seniority (junior pool to VP/D/MD) against a projected macro view of Saudi's national transformation, capital markets development, expected deal flows from priority clients - Collaborating with Finance and HR to closely plan / track resources of the business and keeping Co-Heads of IB fully up-to-date with evolving cost walks and resourcing needs - Monitoring business performance and reporting to IB Co-Heads (gross / net revenues, sectoral mix, market share, priority clients wallet analysis, projected deal pipeline and revenue outlook), including reporting to HSBC Saudi Board of Directors Front Office Risk Management - Maintaining bespoke control environment and a focus on culture to ensure front office origination, structuring and execution remain within applicable laws / regulations, and HSBC Group's risk appetite as expressed through its risk management framework, policies and procedures Managing the Wholesale Operations - Ensuring all new on-boarding into HSBC and CDD renewals are done in accordance with Capital Markets Authority (CMA) guidelines for KYC and HSBC Group's Global Standards. - Leading Issuer Services Operations, including client service and transaction processing for the following roles: Facility Agency (Loans), Paying Agency (Bonds / Sukuks), Security Agency, Escrow Agency (M&A) and Settlement Bank (IPOs, Secondary / FMOs, including ABB trades) - HSBC Saudi Arabia operates using a largely domestic suite of systems and applications.
