For more than 25 years, I've been fortunate to build technology organizations at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Enterprise Data, and Global Engineering.Looking back, I've realized the common thread throughout my career has never really been the technology itself. It's been building strategic capabilities before they become strategic imperatives.I began my career as an AI researcher when Natural Language Processing was still largely confined to research labs. In 2007, I founded Comcast's Applied AI organization—years before enterprise AI became mainstream—and helped establish AI as a strategic capability across the company. Along the way, my teams developed industry-defining innovations including the world's first voice remote, SmartResume, and Game Highlights, earning three Technology Emmy Awards.Today, as Chief Data & AI Officer for Comcast Cable, I lead the company's enterprise data strategy, governance, AI platforms, and AI organization. My focus is on transforming enterprise data into an AI-ready foundation, modernizing how software is built through AI-native engineering, and helping the business leverage data and AI to improve customer experiences, productivity, and operational performance.I've also had the opportunity to lead one of Comcast's largest global engineering organizations—more than 2,500 professionals across seven countries with responsibility for a $450M operating budget—where we modernized platforms, reduced operating costs by 25%, and continued to deliver innovation at global scale.While I've always enjoyed building technology, what motivates me most is building organizations. I believe lasting competitive advantage comes from combining outstanding people, trusted data, intelligent systems, and a culture grounded in transparency, accountability, and continuous learning. The best technology organizations don't simply deliver products—they create capabilities that enable businesses to innovate repeatedly.As AI reshapes every industry, I believe the greatest opportunity isn't just building smarter models.
