Executive Overview
I'm currently President of Research & Development at Takeda and a member of the company’s board of directors. With nearly three decades of experience across academia and the pharmaceutical industry, I’ve worked across the full spectrum of drug development, from early discovery to patient access. At Takeda, I lead a global R&D organization of nearly 5,000 colleagues. I’ve guided a strategic and cultural transformation that sharpened our focus on innovation and prioritized therapeutic areas with the greatest potential to impact human health. I’ve led multiple programs advancing novel therapies for patients across both rare and more prevalent diseases in oncology, neuroscience and gastrointestinal and inflammation. I’m currently focused on driving our growth and taking an AI-forward approach to preparing our organization for the future of science and medicine. My leadership philosophy is grounded in purpose, curiosity, and collaboration. I’m deeply committed to fostering inclusive environments where the next generation of scientific talent is supported and empowered to lead with integrity and imagination. I serve on several nonprofit boards including the Biomedical Science Careers Program, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the PhRMA Foundation, where I’m honored to chair the board.
