Armin Metzger

Armin Metzger is responsible for global biosimilar development, manufacturing and supply at Sandoz. He joined the company in April 2026, bringing more than 25 years of experience in scientific, technical and operational leadership across the pharmaceutical industry.  Prior to Sandoz, Armin held senior technology leadership roles at Swiss‑based Ferring Pharmaceuticals, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Operations Officer. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly two decades at Merck, where he held a range of scientific and technological leadership positions. His international experience spans Switzerland, Germany, Italy and the United States.  In his role at Sandoz, Armin oversees the end‑to‑end biosimilar value chain, from development through manufacturing and global supply, with a strong focus on quality, reliability and scalability. He also serves on the board of directors of Lowenco A/S in Denmark.  Armin holds a Master of Science degree and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Bayreuth. His leadership is people-centric and characterized by scientific rigor, operational excellence and a long‑term perspective on sustainable access to high‑quality biosimilars.  I am an official Sandoz spokesperson.
