Bob Hedges

Bob Hedges is an experienced senior financial services and payments executive, with extensive operating and strategic consulting experience. Bob currently serves as Visa's Chief Data Officer (CDO). As CDO, Bob has global strategic and operating responsibility for Visa's data-related activities. Bob joined Visa in September 2018 to lead the Global Strategic Initiatives team. In that role, Bob had responsibility for a broad portfolio of global strategic initiatives. Bob has extensive financial services experience with a focus on retail banking and payments strategy, marketing, distribution and channel strategies, innovation and growth in retail financial services and digital commerce. Bob’s deep knowledge and ground-breaking research in consumer banking trends, digital disruption, new customer acquisition, and digital banking, payments, and commerce have made him a trusted advisor to clients and a sought-after expert by the media. He is regularly quoted in publications like the Wall Street Journal, American Banker, Bloomberg Business, and other business media. Before joining Visa , Bob was a partner at A.T. Kearney and led the firm's Global Financial Services Practice. Prior to A.T. Kearney, Bob was a managing director at AlixPartners and the cofounder and managing partner of Mercatus, a strategic consulting firm focused on retail financial services. He also held leadership roles at Shawmut Bank, FleetBoston, and Fidelity Investments and gained consulting experience at the MAC Group (now Gemini Consulting) and First Manhattan Consulting Group. Bob earned his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and has an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
