Cian O'Driscoll

With over 10 years of work experience, I am a passionate and visionary leader in the engineering field, with a mission to create and evolve innovative payment solutions for the global economy. I am currently the Head of Engineering for Buy Now Pay Later and Local Payment Methods at Stripe, where I lead multiple engineering teams to integrate with external partners, build strategy with product and sales teams, and drive engineering excellence metrics across the organisation. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, having worked in different countries, industries, and domains, and having collaborated with various stakeholders and customers. In my last role, I was the Software Development Manager at Amazon, where I was the site leader for Alexa Smart Home Ireland. I directed managers, software development teams, and products, and led them to create and evolve our software architecture and hardware to scale to billions of Alexa connected devices. I used my skills in software development, project management, and Scrum to deliver high-quality solutions, handle critical problems and decisions, and mentor team members. I also cultivated a culture of learning, innovation, and customer focus, and developed cross-organisation mechanisms to help our organisation deliver.
