Damien Nicks

I’m Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at AGL, a leading energy retailer that’s helping customers to decarbonise and electrify the way they live, move and work, and operator of Australia’s largest private electricity generation portfolio within the National Electricity Market. Prior to becoming CEO in 2022, I held several senior executive finance roles before joining AGL’s Executive Team as Chief Financial Officer in 2018. I’m also Director of the Australian Energy Council, a peak industry body for electricity and downstream natural gas businesses, and Director of Kaluza Ltd (AGL’s nominee director). My career spans more than 28 years across large multinational businesses in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom. Before AGL, I worked at Linfox Logistics, Smorgon Steel, Cantor Fitzgerald and Deloitte, where I started my career and trained as a Chartered Accountant.
