Dan Solero

I am a cybersecurity executive with 25 years of experience securing telecommunications, IT, and emerging technologies. I currently head the security program for Forged Fiber 37, an open access fiberoptic broadband company. Until February of 2026, I was Assistant Vice President in AT&T’s Chief Security Office and CISO for FirstNet, America’s nationwide public safety broadband network. I had also served as CISO for Cricket Wireless through early 2025. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to lead, direct, and personally contribute across all six functions of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0. That has included guiding security for mobility core, RAN, wireline, and signaling systems; strengthening cloud, data center, and endpoint defenses; and driving secure software development. In several of these domains, I’ve helped shape practices that have influenced the industry itself.I hold 25+ U.S. patents, and I am proud that the teams I’ve built have produced more than 100 additional innovations in cybersecurity, AI, and quantum security.What drives me is clarity and impact: I’m known for making the complex simple — translating technical and regulatory risk into clear business priorities, decisions, and outcomes. I believe security programs should drive accountability, resilience, and be human-centered, enabling innovation while protecting what matters most.
