Don Hobson

As the Chief Information Officer for Visa, I lead the Corporate Technology organization, which includes a global team who serve Visa’s employees and customers worldwide. My strategic priorities include evolving into an Agentic AI organization, continually increasing the security bar, and scaling Visa’s technology and services while creating leverage for business partners and unlocking insights from transactional data and operational excellence. My goal is to build the best technology organization on the planet through Corporate Reliability Engineering, the adoption of GenAI capabilities and clear measurable goals. While technology has evolved, the common denominator throughout my 25+ year plus career has been building best-in-class customer and employee experiences through highly engineered technology departments. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, I earned my undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Prairie View A&M University and received my MBA in Strategy and Leadership from Rice University. Drawing upon my business and engineering backgrounds, my career is marked by a commitment to leveraging innovative technologies to devise smart, intuitive solutions for complex technical challenges. I am deeply passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion within the technology industry, striving to empower underrepresented minorities and diverse communities to achieve success. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Austin, advocating for opportunities that foster growth and development for all.
