I have spent nearly three decades leading fundamental change across industries with a track record of leveraging innovation, technology, digitization, and acquisition to grow businesses under the most complex circumstances. As Chief Financial Officer driving PMI’s transformation to a smoke-free future, I believe the same characteristics that drive business success—innovation, ingenuity, and the ability to efficiently allocate capital—also offer tremendous promise to help solve pressing societal challenges. Strategy, Finance, and Sustainability—the three teams I lead—play a critical role within today’s PMI, helping to establish a roadmap for success that not only responds to short-term needs but also accounts for medium- and long-term impacts. By driving the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into the company’s business strategy, we reinforce the reinvention of our company while inviting shareholders and stakeholders to engage with and support our work to accelerate the end of smoking, continue to grow our smoke-free business, and use our strong capabilities to develop products in wellness and healthcare that can have a net positive impact on society. In my previous role at Schneider Electric, I helped grow the company from €18 billion market cap to €60 billion, while transforming the business model from hardware products for electrical distribution into digital technologies driving the energy transition and industry. Prior, during my 15 years with Pernod Ricard, I assisted in turning a regional competitor into the world’s second-largest wine and spirits company through several important acquisitions, including Seagram and Allied Domecq. A graduate of ESCP Business School in Paris, I have gained deep experience as CFO and deputy CEO of large listed global companies. I have also contributed to the development of several international companies as a board member. I currently sit on the board of Davide Campari-Milano N.V., and in recent years, I served as vice chairman of Aveva plc. and independent director at Sanofi S.A. and Sodexo. In each of these roles, I have witnessed firsthand how corporate strategy and sustainability are intrinsically linked and that a sustainable future hinges on value creation for shareholders and stakeholders.
