James Olender

James Olender is the Chief Information Officer for Wind, part of GE Vernova. With over 20 years at GE & GE Vernova and with a proven track record for leading and accelerating large scale organizational change, James has held leadership positions across a number of GE businesses. Most notably, James served as the CIO - Product Management, Commercial & Engineering at GE Power, Alstom Integration leader for Engineering tools at GE Power & GE Renewables, CIO Engineering & Security at GE Transportation, and Client CIO for Product Lifecycle Management at GE Energy. Prior to joining GE, James was a Business Consultant and Software Engineer at Arthur Andersen where he designed & developed various eCommerce solutions with a focus on B2B exchanges. James also served as the Senior Director of Internet Services for Systemax focused on intuitive user interface design, online marketing and search engine optimization. James holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with duel concentrations in Management Information Systems and Finance from the University at Buffalo. He is a graduate of GE’s highly regarded IT Leadership programs and a CIO Magazine “Ones to Watch” award honoree. He also serves as the Executive Sponsor for the Gas Power Digital Technology Leadership Program. James enjoys playing ice hockey and golf but most of all enjoys spending time with his wife Sandy and their two daughters, Alexa and Lauren.
