As Chief Executive Officer at EDP, I work at the forefront of the energy transition, leading a team of over 12,000 talented individuals dedicated to decarbonizing and electrifying the world’s economy. Over the past two decades at EDP, it has been truly inspiring to see the team grow into global climate leaders, both through the scale of our investment in networks and renewable energies and the ambitious commitment to be net zero by 2040, while ensuring a Just Transition for our people and communities. Whilst I was born in Portugal, I have studied, lived, and worked in Scotland, Italy, the UK and the US but then returned to Portugal where I joined EDP. I continue to spend time in each location where EDP operates – in every single one I listen to diverse voices and the aspirations for a better business within a better society. This is shaping my understanding of cultures and viewpoints, which has been integral to my approach as CEO. I want to use LinkedIn to engage in conversations about the energy transition and how technology can accelerate energy solutions for all.
