My focus is on creating value for EDP shareholders and other stakeholders, by leading the energy transition. I have led a substantial transformation of EDP and expanded its reach globally – in Europe, North America, South America and APAC - while significantly growing EDP’s EBITDA and net income over this (extremely turbulent) period. We have committed to a substantial investment into the energy transition of €25 billion 2023-2026, with a focus on renewables (wind, solar, hydro), networks and customer solutions. Over this period, we have raised over 4.5 €Bn from investors at EDP and EDPR including 1.0 €Bn in August 2020 @EDP to finance the acquisition of Viesgo (doubling our presence in electricity networks in the north of Spain), 1.5 €Bn in 2021 and then 1.0€Bn in 2023 @ EDPR to invest in growing the renewable business, and another 1.0 €Bn @ EDP to finance the take-private of EDP Brasil, a listed subsidiary. EDP has a tremendous amount of talent and my focus during my time as CEO has been on creating and empowering high performance teams. I have also led a major internal reorganisation of the entire company to create a simpler, more agile, and more efficient structure that can take the EDP to a new level of performance.
