Business leader with a penchant for using Digital, Technology and AI for building highly competitive business. A technology evangelist with over 25 years of management leadership expertise in the Financial Services industry, Mukul has consistently delivered strong track record of innovative solutions, digital and transformational projects across multiple geographies in Asia Pacific region. He is currently working as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Axis Max Life Insurance. Prior to this he was leading the Technology, Digital and Analytics vertical at TATA AIA as Executive Vice President & CTO. Prior to this he contributed high impact performance at Prudential Financial for over 13 years, first as a CIO for the India JV & then as a Regional CIO based out of Singapore for around 5 years. Mukul was the first technology hire and the fourth employee in the India JV where he established India’s operations from inception to successful commercial scale of over US$300 M annually. Under his leadership, the company launched the ‘Insurance in a Box’ concept, the first time in the Indian Insurance industry. He was the architect that led the implementation of multiple digital & transformational initiatives including point of sales system, chatbots, data platforms, direct to customer platform, Group & Life Admin systems As a Regional CIO overseeing Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia and Malaysia, he has been able to navigate the technology maturity and culture differences and increased value addition through technology for businesses. He also strengthened the due diligence process for Prudential’s investment in Indonesia JV. In addition, he partnered with diversified teams to launch multiple digital initiatives like Chatbot powered by AI, Data platform, Point of sales and Policy Admin systems and integration with ecosystems like Grab etc in the region. He has also partnered key stakeholders in setting up a greenfield agency company in China.
