Her career spans over two decades, where she has delivered transformative results across NA, LATAM, EMEA and APAC. She serves on the board of ONUG, helping to shape the future of enterprise networking and security. She formerly served on the board of NICC, a telecom interconnect and interoperability standards body in the UK. As Managing Director and Global Head of CTO Service Management at HSBC, Petek leads a geographically dispersed team of 650 professionals while achieving record-high employee engagement. She is responsible for IT service availability and resilience while adhering to global regulatory standards. Under her leadership, the organisation has reduced disruptive incidents by 36% YoY and through investments in automation and improved processes she has achieved a 20% decrease in disruptive minutes. Petek has been instrumental in building operational resilience, including with material third-party services. Previously, Petek served as Managing Director and Global Head of Telecommunication Services at HSBC where she oversaw a team of 1,700 engineers and managed a $380M budget with over 350 third-party contracts. She led network modernisation, improved operational efficiency, and delivered a $73M reduction through strategic vendor negotiations. Her expertise in network security was pivotal in driving innovation and safeguarding the bank’s critical infrastructure. She also played a prominent role in strategic engagements with global vendors and has served on customer advisory boards for Cisco, Zscaler, and Juniper. At JP Morgan Chase, she led a global engineering organization in transforming the firm’s communication infrastructure, achieving substantial cost savings and enhancing resiliency. At Vodafone, she directed major network modernization efforts, rolled out 4G, and improved the customer experience, achieving 99% urban coverage in London. She recently completed HSBC’s Non-Executive Director Programme at IMD Global Board Center, preparing her for further board opportunities. Fluent in English and Turkish, with beginner proficiency in Italian, Petek enjoys traveling, yoga, tennis, and collecting art. She holds dual British and Turkish nationality and is based in London, UK.
