As an Executive Director of Asset Finance, I manage a team of 12 specialists directly we are involved with overseeing the financing and management of Assets (basically Shipping, Aviation and Rolling Stocks among others) from origination to credit approvals, execution, negotiation and syndication among other responsibilities. The Asset Finance portfolio is basically international with more than 90% of our deals closed internationally. Asset Finance has grown significantly over the past years in volume and solutions. This aspect has been key in order to become a reference bank in the market. In order to summarise the portfolio, we have more than € 14 bn with more than 300 assets financed worldwide. Therefore, the team has achieved a depth of knowledge and expertise of financial structuring such as the optimization of tax (tax lease structures), time charter, operating lease, project finance linked to underlying assets being vessels, aircrafts, rolling stocks, etc. with the incorporation of the borrower in different jurisdictions, registers and shipping under different flags. This activity is also driven by ESG requirements, CaixaBank is part of the NZBA, and following ESG requirements is also part of Poseidon Principles, I am the person in charge of these Principles at CaixaBank, and we are also working with similar initiatives in aviation. Furthermore, I sit on the board 5 Rolling Stock companies (ROSCOS) in Spain. Lastly, I have a background in international Project Finance, involved in the execution and origination and acquisition finance activity. Analysed, structured, negotiated and executed the financing of renewable energy assets, conventional power and pipelines through limited recourse instruments (project finance and acquisition finance) for a variety of investor profiles (infrastructure funds, small and medium corporations, utilities and private investors).
